MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide quality education based upon a Biblical view of the world. We subscribe to the idea that quality academic instruction can be provided without compromisingspiritualintegrity. God’sWordisthestandardagainstwhichallinstructionat CGCA is measured. Our students learn to integrate their academic studies with the truth of God’s Word.
PHILOSOPHY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Chosen Generation Christian Academy is committed to the excellence of Christian Education for each student regardless of race, color or ethnic origin. The goals of Chosen Generation Christian Academy are as follows:
1) To provide high quality Christian education by
● Training in the Christian way of life through use of Christ-centered curriculum.
● Offering students a traditional education consistent with biblical truth.
● Increasing student awareness of the world, ideas and events which are influencingour con-temporary culture.
● Preparing students to participate in our society from a Christ-centered perspective.
2) To educate the whole child (spiritually, emotionally, physically and intellectually) by
● Encouraging growth in Christian character by helping students accept their responsibility in living a Christian life through daily bible teaching, scripturememorization and prayer.
● Equipping students with the fundamentals of Christian faith; stimulating them toevaluate knowledge in the light of Scriptural truth and providing opportunities toreceive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
● Balancing academic growth with social development and physical development; allof which are conducive to the healthy maturation of the child.
● Utilizing a curriculum that promotes a well-rounded approach to Christian education.
3) To provide a Christ-centered atmosphere by
● Providing Christian administrators and teachers who portray a Christian example inthe classroom, in functions of the school and in everyday lifestyles.
● Providing a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom, recognizing the value of each child feeling success in learning, maintaining discipline in a positive way thatteaches respect.
● Recognizing the importance and the potential for achievement in each child.
● Encouraging Godly parental involvement in the Christian education of each child.
● Encouraging positive Christian relationships between students and their peers, students and the faculty and faculty and parents. While the child’s home is the first classroom and the most influential and lasting force upon his character, the teachers of Chosen Generation Christian Academy realize the solemn responsibility before God in molding the life and character of each student in order to give a good foundation for each child’s future. The school demonstrates a loving concern for each child under their care.STATEMENT OF FAITHWe confess that there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – the Trinity as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and as confessed by the historic Christian church. We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired, the only infallible, inerrant word of God for faith and practice. All other so-called divine revelations are not of God.We believe God became flesh in the person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His holy resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His person return in power and in glory. Each person born into this world is born into sin and therefore is in need of a Savior. We believe that for our salvation, Christ came to earth to save us from our sins, died and was resurrected so that we might have eternal life.Christ is the head of the church and is the head of our school.
CURRICULUM
Chosen Generation Christian Academy uses the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) curriculum for all students. Our history curriculum conscientiously teaches the facts of history in a Christian perspective, and the science curriculum is presented from a creation perspective. Teachers are allowed to use other resources to aide in their teaching. Homework, reports cards, concerned teachers and informed parents are the rule, not the exception. All students will also have the following classes:
Bible:
Bible is taught as a part of the daily curriculum. We encourage the students to have faith in God as we open our classes in prayer. Chosen Generation Christian Academy is a CHRISTIAN school. Our students and staff members come from a wide variety of churches and denominations. Our Statement of Faith gives an overview of what is taught in the classroom and chapel services.
Physical Education:
The physical education program is designed to enhance the student’s physical capabilities, add to their knowledge of sports and games and further enhance their emotional and social growth. With an emphasis on sportsmanship, fair play, and the unique interaction possible during physical activity, the emotional and social growth of the individual will be enhanced.
Spanish:
Beginning basic vocabulary will be introduced and get gradually more advanced each year. Some homework may be assigned and is expected to be returned as instructed by the teacher.

Dismissal at car line is not a good time to talk with your child’s teacher. If parent needs to speak with the Administrator, Principal or your child’s teacher, parent will need to schedule an appointment between 8:30am – 2:00pm. Teachers are available during student’s PE schedule. The front desk will provide parent with time and date.
This is a very crucial time that allows teachers to assign homework and prepare reminders and instructions.
Daily Schedule, Mondays thru Fridays are as follows:

Attendance Records and Reports Policy
School attendance is crucial to the learning process and academic achievements of every student enrolled at Chosen. Excessive absences have a significant negative impact on students learning and academic achievements and may result on failing grades.
Private schools are required to keep and prepare certain attendance records for compulsory attendance purposes. ss. 1002.42(4) and 1003.23(2), F.S. Rule 6A -1.09512, F.A.C. – in order to meet the compulsory attendance requirements, a child must maintain regular attendance for a minimum of 170 actual school days with the required instructional hours as determined by grade level.
building before school door opens at 8:15am.
6A-1.09512 Equivalent Minimum School Term for Compulsory Attendance Purposes. Any child of compulsory school attendance age, who is enrolled in a non-public school pursuant to Section 1002.42, F.S., shall be deemed to be in compliance with the compulsory attendance requirements of Section 1003.21(1)(a), F.S., provided the child maintains regular attendance during the entire school term of either:
(1) One hundred eighty (180) actual school days determined as prescribed by Section 1011.60(2), F.S., or
(2) A minimum of one hundred seventy (170) actual school days and the
hourly equivalent of one hundred eighty (180) actual school days, determined
as prescribed below:
(a) Kindergarten: Five hundred forty (540) net instructional hours.
(b) Grades 1-3: Seven hundred twenty (720) net instructional hours.
(c) Grades 4-12: Nine hundred (900) net instructional hours.
Failure of parents to comply with the compulsory attendance requirement pursuant
to Rule 6A -1.09512, F.A.C. will result in a violation of school policy and may result in
non-enrollment for next academic year. In the event of excessive absences, parent
will be called for a conference with Principal and Administrator. If absences
continue, this may be cause for students to lose their scholarships as referred in
your scholarship handbook.
Absences/Makeup Work Policy
There are 4 types of excused absences:
Illness of the student with a doctor’s note if more than three (3) days
Emergency at home (Limited)
Serious illness or death of a family member up to three days
Pre-arranged trips with parents with approval from the Administrator (Limited)Students
will be allowed one day for every day of an excused absence to complete make-up work after returning to school. It is not necessary to pick up work for your child if he/she will be absentonlyoneday. StudentswhohavebeenapprovedbytheAdministratortobeabsent due to pre-arranged trips with parents must make arrangements for make-up work with the teacher. Some make-up work may be given prior to the trip and some may be given upon their return. This will be at the discretion of your child’s teacher. Students should have all

homework ready to turn in and be prepared to take any tests or quizzes assigned for the day of absence on the day they return to school.
Example: A student is in school on Monday, but is sick Tuesday and Wednesday. It is the student’s responsibility to have homework ready to turn in and be prepared to take any tests assigned for Tuesday. The student will have 2 days to complete work and tests assigned on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Early Leave / Tardiness Policy
Early Leave:
Early pick up of students create a disturbance in the classroom and interrupts teacher’s schedule.
The student will
be waiting in the lobby at the appropriate time to avoid class interruption
All students leaving school early must be signed out by a parent. If someone other than the parent will pick up the child, WE MUST HAVE A PHOTO ID on file prior to pick up of student.
Tardiness:
Walking in late into a classroom at any time is disruptive to other classmates, creates a delay in schedules and duplicate work for teachers. Students are in their classroom promptly at 8:30am, taking attendance, saying pledges and prayer, turning in home-work, and receiving instruction for daily work. In an effort to avoid class interruptions and encourage promptness, the following tardy policy has been adopted:
Parent will need to notify the school minimum at least two (2) hours before
your desired pick up time. You can also send a note with the student.
up at the front desk unannounced, it is not guaranteed that student may be released
. If parent shows
until teacher has prepared and assigned homework and instructions to the student.
Parent should be mindful of excessive early pickups as it may have a negative impact on
their learning and academic achievement. Parent may be called for a conference with the
Principal and Administrator if student shows a consecutive pattern of early pickups.
1. After 8:30am, parent will escort the student into the building and sign them in.
2. Three (3) tardy within a period of one week will result in disciplinary action. Loss
of recess and detention will be assigned.
3. Five (4) tardy within a period of one week will equal one (1) day of absence, loss
of recess and detention will be assigned.
Parents who have a student with excessive tardiness will be called to meet with the Principal and Administrator. Tardiness can affect the student’s attendance record which in turn will become a violation of the school’s attendance policy and scholarship attendance requirements.

Prescription medicine should be given at home whenever possible. Medicine that is prescribed three times a day can be given before the student comes to school, after school, and again at bedtime. However, if medication MUST be given at school, it must be personally delivered by the parent and accompanied by a written authorization from a parent/guardian that includes the name of the medicine and time/dosage instructions. Medication must be brought to the office by a parent. Students are not allowed to keep medication in their backpacks. Cough drops are considered medication.
Parents of students with asthma or severe allergies should notify the teacher and/or school staff. AninhalerorEpipenshouldbekeptatschoolwithadoctor’sprescriptionlabelonthe container. PLEASE SEND PROPER OUTDOOR WEAR WITH YOUR CHILDREN (coat, hat, gloves) as they will be expected to go outside unless the temperature dips to 32 degrees or it is raining.
Lunches
Students will bring their own lunch to school. We are able to cool and/or heat items for individual student lunches, so please send ice packs as needed. Lunch should be sent to school in the morning with your child, please do not bring fast food to them at lunch time. The only exception is for special occasions; such as birthdays, star of the week days, grandparent’s day. Students who do not have lunch will be offered a school snack and drink and billed for that day.
Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse or Suspected Abuse
In accordance with state law, school staff is obligated under penalty of fine and jail term to report the reasonable suspicion of physical abuse, sexual abuse, or child neglect. The school may or may not contact parents in advance of making a report to authorities. The clear intent of the law, based on the seriousness of the crimes listed above, is to mandate that a report of “reasonable suspicion” of abuse be made. School staff will make such reports in the best interest of the affected child and do not, once reasonable suspicion is established, have any legal alternative except to make the report to the proper authorities for their investigation and review.
Media Release
Parents must sign and turn in a media release form for their child. This will grant or deny the use of the child’s image for such things as brochures, newsletters, yearbooks, promotional videos, newspaper promos, Facebook or our website.
Telephone
Students will not be permitted to use the telephone except in cases of emergency or at the direction of a teacher. Forgetting homework or lunch is not considered an emergency. Students are not permitted to carry cell phones at school.

policy will be those parents who have been awarded Scholarships (McKay or Step Up and do not have any Out-of-Pocket Fees due) or have arranged other payment schedules with the CGCA Administrator. Don’t hesitate to communicate with the office if you know your payment will need to be late.

The staff requests parental support in helping maintain appropriate conduct in the school and at all school activities. Student’s behavior should reflect self-respect and consideration for the rights, feelings, and property of others.
● No electronic devices (except calculators) are allowed at school. All other personal “toys” or items may come only on specific days arranged by the classroom teacher.
● Foul language or questionable slang expressions will not be allowed.
● Name calling or any derogatory remarks toward another person will not bepermitted.
● All faculty and staff will be shown continual respect by the students.
● Any form of weapons, tobacco, drugs or alcoholic beverages will not be permitted onthe school premises at any time. State and federal law prohibit the use of theseitems near the school.
● Abusive or disruptive behavior, hitting, stealing, tripping, pranks or tampering withanother person’s personal property will have consequences and be dealt withimmediately.
● Christ-like behaviors demonstrating love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control will be encouraged.
● Parents who show disruptive or threatening behavior to any CGCA staff will be asked to leave immediately. If this behavior continues, local police authorities will besummoned. There will be No Tolerance for the following behaviors:
● Cheating: The assignment will be taken and the student will receive a “0” for the work. (Students voluntarily supplying work for other students to copy will receive the same consequences.)
● Bullying, Hitting, Kicking, Pushing, Pinching or Spitting: Such intentional violent actions violate the rights of others and cannot be allowed to continue. In such instances, parents will be called to meet with the Academy Supervisor and/or Administrator and the child to determine a plan that will insure this behavior is stopped.School SuspensionIn-School Suspension: A student will be isolated from his/her classmates during the school day. He/she will be given class work to complete and all grades will be recorded. In-school suspension will be for a period of 1-3 days and will be the result of repeated
actions such as the following: use of profanity, indecent actions, fighting or threatening to hit another student or staff member, stealing, lying/deception, cheating, direct rebellion and open defiance against authority.
Out-of-School Suspension: A student will not be allowed to attend school and will receive a “0” for any recorded grades for the time of the suspension. Suspension will be for a period of 1-3 days and will be the result of behavior such as endangering the life, health or safety of others, drug paraphernalia, continued stealing, lying/deception, repeated cheating, direct rebellion and continued open defiance against authority.
Classroom Expectations
Classroom expectations will be discussed at the beginning of the school year in all classes. Awards and privileges for respect of these expectations as well as consequences for not following rules will also be discussed. Students are expected to follow the rules set forth by the teacher. Continued problems will lead to a parental visit with the Academy Supervisor and/or Administrator.
Discipline
We will use a behavior modification system when discipline is necessary. This system will require the student to name his/her behavior, take ownership for it, discuss with an adult why it was not appropriate, develop a plan to eliminate such repetitive behavior, and accept a consequence for the behavior. This is done individually with the child and the supervising adult. In the rare instance that the behavior continues to be disruptive to the student and his/her classmates, the Academy Supervisor and/or Administrator will call the parents in to help develop a specific plan to help the child and hold him/her accountable for his/her actions.
Care of School Property
The school building is used by everyone and the condition in which we find our school is a result of our own actions. All students are expected to take care of the school property:
Keep classrooms, halls, and ground free from litter and clutter.
Keep feet off furnishings and not sit on top of desks, tables or chair tops.
Keep hands and feet off walls, glass and doors.
Report hazardous or broken items to their teacher.
Throw away their own trash.
Items that become damaged/or lost such as textbooks, or library books will becharged the price of replacement.
ACADEMIC POLICIES
Achievement Tests
Standardized achievements tests will be given in the spring to students in 3 through the 10 grades. The tests are given through SAT 10, of which CGCA is a member school.
These tests consist of the core curriculum areas including Bible and will give you a snap-shot of where your child falls compared to other students nationally. Keep in mind that this is not the ultimate determinate in whether or not your child is ready to move to the next grade or of their overall academic performance. It is just one of the measures we use to help us evaluate our schools academic performance. Parents will be notified when the test results are received.
Homework
All homework assignments have the same educational value as classroom assignments. As a general rule, home-work should not take more than 10 minutes times the grade level of the child. However, there are students who do not use class time wisely or work slowly and may require more time to complete his/her assignments. Late homework will receive a grade reduction of 10 points per day with the students receiving a “0” for the assignment if it is not returned within 5 days. The student will receive an “I” (incomplete) on the report card until all work has been satisfactorily completed and turned into the teacher. It is not acceptable for a student to decide not to complete an assignment and take a “0”. All assignments must be completed.
Parent/Teacher Association
Teachers will conduct the parent-teacher conferences at the end of the first and third quarters on an appointment basis, devoting approximately 15 minutes for each conference. If more time is needed, plans may need to be made for another day. Other conferences may be scheduled throughout the year by appointment with teachers or the Academy Supervisor and/or Administrator. Teachers will not accept school related phone calls from parents after regular school hours. Please do not call teachers on their personal phone lines unless it’s an emergency. Leave a message during school hours at school, and the teacher will call you back as soon as possible.
Permanent Records
Records are maintained for all students attending Chosen Generation Christian Academy. The grades, absences, tardies, behavior and financial statements are all recorded and locked in the school office. Records are released to requesting schools if all fees have been paid and the parents have signed the appropriate release form.
Report Cards
Grades will be reported to parents at the end of each quarter. A mid-quarter progress report will be sent home. Parent conferences will be scheduled at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters. Special conferences may be scheduled throughout the year to address specific problems.
Address Changes
It is imperative that the school office be notified immediately of a change of address, home or office telephone number, or emergency information.
Court Ordered Custodial Information
In case of a court ordered custodial agreement, copies of all such documents must be given to the administrator to be placed in the child’s permanent file. By the state law of Florida, all biological or legally adoptive parents have the right to take their child from school unless legal custodial documents are in place which says otherwise. Only biological parents or court ordered adoptive parents or court ordered legal guardians have the right to name who may pick a child up from school, or who may receive information about their child. Ifyourchildhassomesortoflegalrestrictionsastowhomhe/shecanbereleasedor to whom the school can give information concerning the child, please make sure the administrator has copies of these documents.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TRUST IN ALLOWING US TO EDUCATE YOUR CHILD.

CGCA’s main commitment is to offer quality education with a biblical foundation. Therefore, we are staffed with administrators and teachers that have been academically qualified with a degree and/or vast experience in the administration and educational field as well as spiritually prepared as a plus requirement for the school.
Admissions of all students enrolled at the academy are based on review of the academic records, submission of required paperwork and interview with the administrative staff. Once admitted, students are required to take a diagnostic assessment to determine the academic level and the curriculum level and the number of paces/books to complete during the academic year. All students are required to take an assessment test every year in April. Transportation not covered by a scholarship is available for a discounted fee. Lunch is not provided at this time.
Below are some rules for students to follow during the academic year:
